My Remodeled Stamp Room!

Well it is finally done an I am all moved in. My hubby did all of the work on this and I think he did an awesome job! The room used to be our third car garage that we had incorporated into the house after it caught on fire in July of 2008. Here is a shot from the hallway entrance. I got the inspiration for the island in the center of the room from the blog of the fabulously talented Cindy Lawrence.

Here is my desk on the West wall. All of my 8.5x11 cardstock is stored in the two filing cabinets under the desk.

My JetMax storage cubes and Best Organizers on the East Wall:

I love my Best Organizers... I keep all sorts of tools and suplies in them... and they hold A LOT!

I store my clear stamps in a Scrap Rack... it is so easy to flip through the pages to find what I am looking for...

My cutting table, ribbon, and Nestabilities:

I have my Nesties stored on chipboard rectangles I got at JoAnn with magnet sheets glued to them. I then put them in plastic cases I bought at Office Depot and hung them (sorted by shapes) on a drapery rod with curtain hooks...

On the other side of the room is my desk... my hubby calls it "Command Central". I have my iMac, a small tv to watch while I am on the computer, and a larger tv mounted on the wall above the desk to use at the island and stamping desk. He even put a mini fridge next to my desk! He's definitely a keeper!

The view back towards the door and the closet.

My rubber stamps are unmounted and put in CD and DVD cases. I originally used EZ Mount but am now in the process of gonig bare rubber and stamping with an acrylic block and Tack & Peel. Here is a close-up of the wire storage in the picture above.

  21. oh goodness! Outstanding room...can you tell me about your island desk? did you buy it that way or did you build if from a top and cubicles from like Target? I love the glass top as well!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi Sue... The ends of the island are Closet Maid units from Target (about $50 each) and the top is a cheap door that we bought at Lowe's , painted, and covered with glass. You can use a hollow core door if you use the glass because it gives it extra strength. I actually got the idea for the island from Cindy Lawrence's blog.

  33. I'm so jealous. I'm going to save this post so I can shoot for having a room like this someday!

Question, where did you get the island/desk? I'm really wanting one for my craft room remodel once we move and I'm having a hard time finding one that I like. All of my other furniture is white so a desk like yours would go perfectly.

    Thanks!

  34. Stupid - but potentially not stupid - question: What are Best Organizers? Is that a brand name? If so, where can you get them, and do they have a website? Any information would be very timely, since I'm re-doing my room as we speak, and need to figure out how to organize my paper and stamps!

    Thanks!

  35. To answer a few questions:

-the island was made from two Closet Maid organizers from Target (about $50 each) and the top is a hollow core door painted white and covered with glass. I got the info for the island from Cindy Lawrence's blog.

    - The Best Craft Organizer can be purchased here: http://www.bestscrapbookshelf.com/

  49. I just found your fantastic room from SCS. There are so many things I LOVE about your room, I dont know where to start and keep my comment brief.
The island, I have drawn this thing out using the same items as you have soooo many times. My idea came from the $1000 pottery barn version. The only thing I didnt think of was the glass. LOVE it ! I already have the end units, just using them in other area of my room.
The BEST Organizers??? Love. I have looked at these on line for a couple years. Was never sure. But I love how you have yours divided and labeled. That is exactly how I scrap. I am sooooo copying your Nestie storage. Mine are in CD cases with magnet and sit in a basket on my desk, but I love how you can just flip through yours and they are right in front of your face, without taking up space on your table! I have saved your room to my "Favorite Scrap/Stamp Rooms" and when we finally build our house I will be borrowing many of your ideas.
LOVE how organized you are. I am anal that way but still need to edit my junk. Thats were I could use your advice.
I think I better stop now, not very good at keeping it brief :)
