Summer Camp - Week One Technique Challenge

The technique challenge for this week was to make a window card using this weeks color combo:

Here is what I came up with at 2 AM this morning when my mojo decided to show up LOL.  Hey, what can I say, when the mojo shows up you just have to take advantage of it and STAMP!

I'm off to Summer Camp... Week One Color Combo

I'm off to Summer Card Camp (online) with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner, as well as many other talented guests.  It's week one and here's the color combo:

This color combo is really out of the box for me.  I tend to stick with more muted colors and it took me a while to come up with an idea.  Here is the card I came up with:

I'm really looking forward to seeing what other fun ideas and color combos are coming up... I have a technique card to post too so check back later...

Distressed Ink...

I love Distressed Ink!  I love the way the colors blend so you can create beautiful effects.   For this card I heat embossed Hero Arts "Large Flower Pattern" on white cardstock and colored it with Distress Inks and a sponge dauber.  I love the way it turned out... the colors are really vibrant!

I've been doing quite a bit of stamping lately so I will try and get some new cards posted soon!

For Caleb...

I made this card for one of my dearest friends' son, Caleb, who turned five this past November.  I always struggle to make masculine and kids cards but I am pretty happy with how this one turned out.

I used Stampendous "Hot Botz" to build the robot.  The set is really versatile... all the parts ore separate so you can pick and choose how you want your robot to look.  The sentiment was from another set (sorry but I don't remember which one).   It was also used on the inside of the card which says "Happy Beep Beep Birthday". The only thing I wish I would have changed is to use silver paper and a diamond plate embossing folder for the white layer...

I hope to get back to doing more blogging soon... I am finally getting somewhat healthy again and am now just trying to get my house cleaned after being sick for almost two months.
