Been doing some... cutting!

I've been taking an online card class in die cutting and also, most importantly, how to use my Silhouette electronic die cutter.  I never really used my Silhouette that much but now I am using it all the time... I am so in  love with my little machine!

I made this card with no stamping... I just found a butterfly shape I liked, duplicated and resized it, and stacked the layers.  I also cut the sentiment out.  All the cutting files are from the Silhouette store... and they were only 99 cents each  Once you purchase the cutting files you can use them as much as you want and resize them as you like.  Pretty neat if you ask me  and a lot cheaper than buying multiple dies!

Velveteen Technique...

I tried this "Velveteen" technique created by the fabulous Shari Carroll from Hero Arts.  You can check out the tutorial  HERE.  It was fun and I really like the effect.  The metal butterfly was an afterthought... it's been sitting on my desk and I am not sure if I like it or not on this card.  It looks a lot better in person than on this scan.

Birthday card for my Dad...

I made this card a while back for my Dad's birthday, which is  coming up at the end of the week.  He will be 79 and loves flying RC planes.  I hope he likes it!

I know I have been MIA for quite a while but some days I am just not feeling very well, which means I don't feel like stamping or doing much else.  I am finally getting caught up here at home so hopefully I can stamp more instead of doing housework and trying to catch up.  *fingers crossed*
