I fell in love...

I fell in love with this paper the minute I saw it.  The color are so pretty and it just made my happy. 

The stamp is form Stampin' Up and I had to add some white polka dots to the girls dress so it matched the paper. 

I will be taking a week or two off from blogging... my husband is coming home tomorrow on leave and I haven't seen him for 8-1/2 months.  I am SO excited.  For those of you that don't know, he is serving in the US Coast Guard and is stationed in Kodiak, Alaska.

I'm off to play with the new toy FedEx delivered today... a Tim Holtz Vagabond.  It's my Christmas gift from my hubby.  He is a keeper!

Way out of my comfort zone...

I love Asian themed cards... my friend Pat (waving at Pat!) makes the most beautiful Asian cards so I thought I would go outside of my comfort zone and use a stamp I have had for a long time... Hero Arts' Haiku Bunny. 

It was pretty simple to make... and I did very little coloring on the image because the paper is so bold I wanted to keep the image simple.  I will be trying more Asian cards when I have time... using Pat as my inspiration... Love ya Pat!

Distress Inks... a quick post!

My favorite inks are Ranger's Distressed Ink.  They are so versatile.  I used blues and purples for this card, blending the two colors together over an embossed stamped image.  I also added some white dots with a white pen and some Hero Arts Pearls along with some white ribbon from my stash. 

It's late and I am off to sleep... my two dogs are on the bed waiting for me!
